Spring Break Staycation

Wondering what to do with the family over spring break? How about a staycation? The DFW area has tons of great things to do on your spring vacation. Here are a few fun things the entire family will enjoy – right here in our own backyard!

  1. Fort Worth Zoo. Head on out and meet the newest member of the zoo family, the baby gorilla! (They need help naming him!) Also, from March 14 to 18, explore the Zoo at “Spring Break Camp” — for students in first through sixth grades. By the way, did you know FTWCCU sells discounted Fort Worth Zoo tickets? Head to any FTWCCU branch and pick yours up today!
  2. Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Gardens consist of 22 specialized gardens totaling 110 acres. Take your family to “Butterflies in the Garden” from March 1st through April 3rd. Walk among hundreds of butterflies from around the world (right here in Fort Worth!)  To register, visit http://www.fwbg.org/
  3. Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Visit the Museum for “Spring Break at the Museum” from March 12-16 until 6pm. Whether you’re into the Bubble Festival, the Star Party, or you just want to watch Star Wars in the Omni Theater, you’re sure to find something you can enjoy! Visit http://fortworthmuseum.org/ to learn more.
  4. Fort Worth Stockyards. Celebrate your Spring Break at the Fort Worth Stockyards on March 12 and 13. They’ll have everything from live music to armadillo races. Seriously. Cattle drives, pony rides, a petting zoo, stage coach and carriage rides. You can’t go wrong with the Stockyards! Visit http://www.fortworthstockyards.org/ for more information.
